To the Editor:
State. Sen. George Barker isn’t a party politician. He brings sides together, and looks at each issue individually to see how it affects Virginians in our district and across the Commonwealth. As a result, he has proven himself to be a thoughtful, effective leader for Northern Virginia.
Even before being elected to the Senate, Barker was working hard and delivering results for our community. As a PTA president and chair of the Fairfax County Transportation Advisory Commission, he led numerous efforts to improve our schools and fix our transportation system and was named Fairfax County’s Citizen of the Year for his service. I am personally grateful for his significant contribution to the positive outcome of a VDOT project in my neighborhood that brought people together, saved the taxpayers money and saved the natural character of our road.
During his two terms in office, Sen. Barker has continued that work. He has sponsored more bills on education than anyone in the Senate, and was a key player in passing transportation legislation that is helping to improve our roads and reduce congestion.
Sen. Barker is the candidate who has the experience and the ability to get things done for Northern Virginia, and he has the track record to prove it. He is truly committed to serving people and I am proud to know him. This is why I am supporting Sen. George L. Barker for reelection this November.
