The Mosaic District kicked off the holidays with its annual “Merry Mosaic” event and lighting of the Christmas Tree on Friday, Dec. 7. Santa was escorted in a fire truck by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Fairfax County Police Department. A towering walk-through Christmas Tree was lit with a digital countdown on the big screen. Entertainment included the URBNmarket Holiday Pop Up, FreshFarm Market’s tree farm, and live music performers VICU, the Vienna Singing Princesses, and The Yellow Tie Guy. A screening of Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on the big screen topped off the festive evening.

Santa is available for free selfies on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 23, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 23, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the street level lobby of the Target building.
