Lorton Snapshot: Boy Scouts Clean Up Silverbrook Road
Boy Scout Troop 688, sponsored by Christ United Methodist Church in Fairfax Station, conducted its bi-annual Silverbrook Road Clean-up Saturday, Oct. 8 in a light rain. There were 29 Boy Scouts and adults picking up trash and debris along the route from Hooes Road to Rt. 123 on Silverbrook Road. Chuck Rusnak of Clifton stood in the middle of the Clifton Primitive Baptist Church, on all-original wooden floors laid in 1871 for an All-African American Church built on land donated by an emancipated slave.
