Christ Presbyterian Preschool in Fairfax hosted Family Friday on April 12 to cap off the Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Family Friday focuses on engaging and celebrating families at the heart of supporting their youngest learners. In addition to inviting students’ families in for the event, special guests were Senator Stella Pekarsky (D-36) and Delegate Irene Shin (D-8) who were invited to help elevate the importance of Early Childhood Education. Other themes celebrated during the week were Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, and Artsy Thursday.
